Ways to Stay In the Presence of God During Your Transition...
Transitions are a part of life and that means there are moments when your days from yesterday look a lot different than the days that are ahead of you. The bright side of it is to focus on today. There are some people who may experience transitions more than others, but they still occur for everyone. Nothing lasts forever and things change. Whether that is a change from one job to another. Or you are moving from one place to another. There are changes that are constantly taking place all around. Just look at the world we live in. That being said, with each change there is something new to look forward to and something new to embrace. For this part of your journey, I am going to give you a list of ways to stay in God's presence while you are in the midst of your transition.
Get In The Presence of God
Read your bible. God's word doesn't fail and it does not return unto Him void. Reading the word of God will fill you up and keep you encouraged. God also likes to highlight mysteries that we don't know yet as we build up our relationship with Him. If you haven't had enough time before to read, use this time now to do so.
Pray. According to 1 Thessalonians 5: 17 KJV we are to pray without ceasing. Prayer is also a great way for you to communicate with God. It's a conversation. The same way you talk to your friends and family is the same way you can be talking to God. God isn't looking for length. He is looking at your heart. He wants to intentionally spend time with Him. In Matthew 7:7 KJV says, " Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:" When you seek God, you start to see how God communicates back to you and that helps bring clarity, guidance and so much more.
Praise and Worship. There's nothing like playing worship music and giving God praise that will shift the atmosphere around you. If you are feeling stuck, or feeling down, or simply just need a pick-me-up. I encourage you to start praising God. At the end of the day, there is a lot to be thankful for regardless of what today looks like. Take the time to sit and reflect back on all the ways God has shown up for you and start to thank Him because He didn't have to show up in those situations but He did. Also, start giving God thanks for the promises that He has spoken over you. God is not a man that shall lie, so His promises shall come forth.
Fast. God may lead you to fast and show you what type of fast to do during this time. Fasting is a great way to be emptied of impurities so you can get closer to God. Allow Him to show you what type of fast He is inviting you to.
Rest in God. "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." 1 Peter 5:7 KJV. Transitions can bring about a lot of mixed feelings. This is when you want to be surrendering them back to God and allowing Him to fill you up and to show you what He is doing with you. By spending more time with God you are able to build your trust and faith in Him even when things look uncertain in the natural. Take time to ask God how He wants you to rest in Him in the season you are in. Rest looks different depending on your season. "For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his." Hebrews 4:10 KJV

The reality is that transitions bring on a lot of feelings and emotions. Don't be afraid to acknowledge how you feel and give those emotions to God. If you don't have a journal, I recommend that you grab one. Journaling has been extremely beneficial in my own journey with God and it has allowed me to have another way to communicate with God.
