Make Up Your Mind

Making up your mind means that you are taking the next step to get up from where you are choosing to not accept what once was attached to you. Choosing to make up your mind is understanding that you have a choice to either stay in your old or walk boldly into your new. You have a choice to either sit on what God has given you or you can begin to get up and do what He has called you to do.
Last month, the story of the lame man kept being highlighted to me. I knew that God was speaking. That was the chapter where Jesus find this man on the Sabbath laying on his mat unable to move or go into the springs to receive healing. As Jesus stood there listening, He gave Him a command. He said pick up your mat and walk. The man didn't argue with Jesus or tell Him why he couldn't or how long it had been. He simply got up and walked. He came into agreement with the healing miracle that God did in His life.
As I kept re-reading this story, I remember having my own moment with the Lord. I was in the shower crying and praying because honestly I was feeling frustrated about some things in my life. There was a moment where I snapped. I said to myself that I am sick and tired of how things are and I am sick and tired of having things look one way when I know that God had promised something different. There was a shift inside of me that said I can either keep chugging at the rate that I am going and continue to be frustrated or I can get up and do.
For me, that meant finally letting go of the past and stop trying to see out the filter of the old when God has already said you are in a new season. I needed to recognize that time was moving and it was time for me to jump in the game and move in His flow. I had to stop trying to allow the friction of the old run up on the new. That meant letting go of the way I saw my journey, the way i saw life and the way I experienced situations. I needed to allow God's healing not just be a surface thing, but to fully embrace the healing that He has given me. To walk in it.
Of course I had questions about some areas in my life and I wasn't sure what some things were going to look like. But it wasn't for me to figure it out. I had to be okay with God molding me into who I needed to be for where He was taking me. It was the jump start that I needed to get out of my feelings and inconsistencies.
To the reader: The one who is on the other side reading this post trying to figure out what to do next. You have a choice to make. You can decide today that you are taking back your life, your mind and what God has called you to do and move in it. Or you can choose to remain where you are trying to see if someone will push you into the pull when the next wave rises.
God is already sending the help, you just have to be able to receive the help in the way that He chooses to bring it. It may not look the way that you thought it would come, but that does not mean that you are to dismiss it either.
