Spring Forward in Realigning to God's Plan

Updated: May 15

It’s the last day of March and we have already transitioned over into a new season. Spring isn’t just in the air, but we can see it as we open up our windows and doors. To the smell of rain fall that is washing away the winter that was here and welcoming in the new set of flowers that are ready to bloom.

The year may have just started, but quarter 2 is about to open it’s doors and what do you plan to do? Do you plan to let another season walk past without putting some action to the thought or idea you wanted to launch for 2025? Or are you ready to tackle these goals?

I know in some of my conversations I talk a lot about ideas and plans for things externally, but what about the personal goals that you have for yourself? I know one of mine was to increase my time with the Lord daily so I could read more. I’ve had seasons where I read a lot and some seasons where it wasn’t as much I desired.

I remember having a conversation recently with a young lady whose life was getting really busy with school & work. She could see that there was a shift happening with her reading decreasing so she made it a point to make some changes within her routine. Those changes challenged her to stretch in the areas that she desired to stretch when it came to her faith. She wanted to read more, so she told herself that her home was made for worship and to place an emphasis on her work being done outside the home.

I thought that was so cool, but she wanted to be intentional with her focus on the time she spent with God. I could relate because there were plenty of seasons where I needed to change up my environment to help me gain clarity with God. Sometimes making small changes helps things to flow within you differently, especially when there may be stressors that are trying to amplify themselves in your life.

I think anytime new changes come up it’s important to create a routine with meeting up with God so that you can get your daily bread and be filled up as you go into the world. I’ll even add that there is a difference when I am able to meet with God before I start my day versus the days that I don’t. I can see a difference in my mood and in the way that I may approach things that come up.

There is something powerful about aligning your day to God’s will and seeking His plan and instructions. The same goes with being able to simply lay down your burdens at his feet. Sometimes all you need is the reassurance that the burden you may feel is already in His hands and that He is in control. So, when things pop up, you aren’t caught off guard. Instead, you are able to lean into Him and see what He is saying.

As this month gets ready to come to a close, what are your plans for strengthening your relationship with God moving forward? How are you aligning your plans to His will for you?
