Trusting in God, In the Messy Middle

Have you ever felt like your situation was so messy that it was going to have to be God who fixed it and changed it for you? Have you been walking in one path and then all of a sudden you found out that God needed you to create an exit plan because the place He was taking you required not only a new route, but also a very different version of you to show up? Girl, let's talk about it. I had very high expectations for the year of 2026 and still do (I'm just saying.) This year didn't look like the others and honestly it didn't feel like the others either. This year felt like we were coming in hit, like guns blazing and read for battle. I remember one thing the Lord told me about the beginning of the year. It was, "Don't Flinch." Now, I have never felt the Lord tell me that before, but that told me something would try to come to intimidate me. To be honest, I wasn't sure what that was going to look like for real, until shifts and changes in my location had to happen suddenly.

In the middle of March, I found myself facing an intersection of faith regarding my daughter. I was faced with a reality that how life was going was needing to shift a lot faster and a lot sooner. What initially felt like a moment turned into something deeper. I saw that what she needed wasn't just a conversation from mom to see how things were going. She needed to be nurtured differently. She needed her mom in a different way for the young lady that she was becoming. I was willing. I accepted the push to go forward without thinking about what it would cost to leave a place and go to another.

Here's why? We were in the middle of a health crisis. I got to come and see that my child was okay, but that could have gone a very different way and no one would have known. To be honest, that scared me.

Though, I wasn't sure what to do or how this was going to unfold, I know the Holy Spirit said to trust Him. I had to. He saved my child's life. He ordered my steps. He kept us in His peace, He reminded me that He did it before then he could do it again. This journey hasn't been easy to be quite honest with you. There's big emotions and a lot of words used by different folks. Although, people have had their own thoughts and perspectives on this I am grateful that God continues to go before us and teach us His ways.

Lesson Learned

Keep speaking life over yourself, your season and your situation. When things get difficult, it can be harder to see the light that God offers and brings because you see what you are going through. I wnat to encourage you to speak life, affirm what He has spoken and said about you. Don't allow your feelings or thoughts to get you off track or to make you feel like God isn't able to step in. Sometimes we have to be able to get our minds off the situation and see how He has already been working in it the entire way through.

In honor of this active lesson taking place in my own life, I have created a new journal called, Speak Life to Your Best Life: 31 Day affirmations Journal." A journey of empowerment and identity. Where we speak life into you for the first 7 days and you are welcome to join us all May long on this journey of affirmations and writing down the ones that align boldly to the woman you are becoming.
